Habitat loss is the single biggest threat to Australian wildlife. Caroline and I hope we will keep seeing signs of their existence in the wild even if it is no more then the occasional burrow here and there. If it was up to Caroline she would take in all homeless Wombats (secretly I would like to as well) but most of all we would love to see them out there in the bush. Going about their business as they have done for thousands of years.
And that counts for all of Australia's wildlife for that matter.
