No longer our little secret

Today Caroline had her 12 wk scan. All results came back positive or is it negative? Ollie will have a little brother or sister soon. =) We have known for quite some time Caroline is pregnant (since 25th of January at 4 weeks) and we ve managed to keep it quiet all this time... No more 'lies' no more secrecy we can tell the world! It was a huge relief to find all the results came back the way they should be. We have had a trisomy 18 scare with Ollie around this time so we ve been a bit on edge about it. But we can now enjoy Caroline's pregnancy to the fullest now. The baby is average on everything so there should not be any issues. No pet name for the little one yet, at the moment it is simply known as No.2. We are over the moon about it. We did ask if they could tell what it would be a boy or a girl, but it was too early to tell yet. Ollie does not realize it yet, but we think he'll make a great 'Big Brother' with his happy character. Let's hope he has learned to share his toys by then...

A dog in the midsts of the rubble in Japan stays by the side of his injured friend

Dogs are strange animals. They can be extremely loyal to their owner or in this case his fellow companion. I would love to have a dog, if only we had the time, to take care of it properly.

Here is an English translation of the voiceover exchange between the two reporters in the clip (translation courtesy of Toshiyuki Kitamura) found here :

We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.

He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.

Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.

Where?

Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.

The dog is protecting him.

Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.

I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.

Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.

Yes! Yes! He is alive.

He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.

Oh good. He's getting up.

It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It's just amazing that they survived through this all.

Wow has it been that long?

Oliver (14 months old here)
When I started blogging I did so as a way for family and friends to see what we were unto at the other end of the world. I did reasonably well I thought until last year. The arrival of the Ollie-Bollie has changed Caroline and myself and how we spend our time a lot. Not saying it is a bad thing, Ollie is a wonderful boy, merely saying it has had a profound impact on us and how we live our lives, obviously. It has taken awhile but I think I can find the time again to blog every now and then.(not making any promises). For this reason I have also joined Twitter recently and my ID is @ArniesWorldOz. You don't have to sign up with Twitter to see my short ramblings either.

It's been a long time....

It's been a long long long time over a year, but I will try to start blogging again.
I have also joined Twitter not sure what its all about and how to use it but time will tell.
